In the world of rock music, few things carry as much raw emotion and electrifying energy as a song inspired by love.
Ukrainian glam rock band Star Crystal has channeled this very essence into their latest track, “Power of Love,” a song that embodies passion, emotion, and the band’s signature 80s-inspired sound.
From the Silver Screen to the Stage
The idea for “Power of Love” was sparked by a song featured in the beloved classic film Back to the Future.
Star Crystal took the phrase and infused it with their own personal experiences, creating a track that not only pays homage to their musical influences but also tells an intimate story.
“We took the phrase and added stories from our own lives,” the band shared. “It’s about the passionate emotions of a girl deeply in love, giving herself completely and dreaming of everything she desires from her partner.”
A Soundtrack for Romance and the Open Road
For those who have followed Star Crystal’s evolution, “Power of Love” marks a strong continuation of their signature style.
While their first album leaned towards light rock, their second album embraced a heavier glam sound, a direction they continue to explore in this new release. “It’s a real soundtrack to a driving movie with a love story,” they explained.
The Creative Process Behind the Anthem
Like all their songs, “Power of Love” was a collaborative effort. The band’s guitarist, Alex, first brought the initial idea, and through collective creativity, the song was refined to perfection.
“Each song we work on, we aim for perfection,” the band said. “We want to look into the audience and see people enjoying every note.”
However, the production process was bittersweet. The band dedicated the song to their late friend and sound engineer, who passed away a year ago.
“He was an integral part of our albums, mixing our songs and helping us refine our glam rock sound,” they said. “His influence is forever imprinted on this track.”
The Power That Drives Them
“Power of Love” is more than just a title—it’s the force that fuels Star Crystal. “Love motivates us when we record in the studio, when we perform on stage. It’s what unites us,” they said.
Musically, the track stays true to the band’s 80s glam/hard rock roots. “We didn’t mix genres this time—we wanted a classic, powerful rock song that embodies that era’s magic.”
Memorable Studio Moments
No great song is made without a few surprises. During the recording of the guitar solo, the studio lights suddenly went out.
“We started laughing, joking that it was all the power of love at work. But then we realized we may have lost a perfect take. Thankfully, it was saved!” they recalled.
What Fans Can Expect
With “Power of Love,” Star Crystal aims to take listeners on an emotional journey. “Anyone who listens will start dreaming of seeing us live, feeling the energy, the passion, the power of love,” the band promised.
As they continue to carve their path in the rock world, Star Crystal is proving that their music isn’t just about sound—it’s an experience.
And with songs like “Power of Love,” they are determined to make fans feel every bit of it.
