In a press conference broadcast live on Facebook, the organizers announced that the 2026 edition of Rockstadt Extreme Fest will take place in the town of Ghimbav.
This decision comes as Râșnov’s infrastructure can no longer accommodate a festival of such large scale.
According to representatives of the REF Cultural Association, the organizers also announced their intention to launch a new project – a satellite event of Rockstadt Extreme Fest, which will remain anchored in Râșnov.
Scheduled for early June 2026, the new event will be held in the area of the current Andrei Calmuc stage.
The proposal has already been approved by the Râșnov City Hall.
First bands announced for the 2026 edition
During the press conference, Ștefan Zaharescu, organizer and promoter of various events including REF, announced the first two bands confirmed for the 2026 edition.
These are the German band Helloween, who will prepare a special 40th anniversary show, and Accept, with a grand production celebrating 50 years of activity.
“We chose to announce these two bands considering the Saxon origins of Ghimbav,” said Dan Zaharia, president of the REF Cultural Association.
Where is the new location?
According to Dan Zaharia, the new Rockstadt Extreme Fest venue is located near the train station in Ghimbav. He also added that solutions will be found to facilitate and streamline transportation between Brașov and the festival area.
In addition to the festival grounds, Ghimbav City Hall will provide three other plots to be used as camping areas and a parking lot.
Public Transport
“We have well-established stations in the city, but we will probably have a discussion with RATBV to ensure transportation both by road and rail. I am convinced that a few extra trips per day between Brașov and Ghimbav won’t hurt,” declared Ionel Fliundra, the mayor of Ghimbav.
Moreover, with a quick Google Maps search, it can be seen that Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport is approximately 8 km away from the location where the festival will take place.
Tickets worth 177 euros
“There is an upcoming VAT increase for tickets, from 9% to 19%, but until this takes effect, we thought it would be a good way to support the community by giving them the chance to buy tickets at a lower price.”
The first ticket tier will be available starting 30.07.2025, with a price of 162 euros + VAT, meaning 177 euros for a five-day pass.
The second tier will be released along with part of the lineup announcement between August 1 and 3, with a price of 207 euro + VAT.
After the end of the 2025 Rockstadt Extreme Fest edition, tickets for 2026 will be available on the official website at a price of 246 euro.
